Upd8All was built on a simple premise: receiving status updates should be fast, secure, and hassle-free. We bridge the gap between businesses and customers with an anonymous, a zero-friction notification solution that needs no accounts or phone numbers.

 

Our Story

The idea for Upd8All was born in 2018. While consulting in the fintech industry in Brussels, founder Ali Shahi went out for lunch with colleagues at a crowded fast-food restaurant with limited seating. After ordering, they rushed upstairs to secure a table, resulting in repeated trips back downstairs to check if the food was ready.

Hardware buzzers were expensive, unhygienic, and required constant maintenance. On the other hand, requiring customers to hand over personal phone numbers or download a single-use app for a quick update created unnecessary friction, especially as EU GDPR regulations were highlighting the critical importance of data privacy.

There was a clear need for a universal, secure, and completely anonymous notification tool. Development began in 2020 under the internal working title WaitsUp ("Your Wait is Over"), which eventually evolved into the direct, all-encompassing brand Upd8All. In 2022, Upd8All Limited was officially founded in the UK to support, scale, and market the platform globally.

Upd8All operates as a seamless B2B2C solution designed for any scenario where someone is waiting for an update:

  • Services & Repairs: Car maintenance finished, key duplication completed, or dry cleaning ready.
  • Travel & Events: Flight arrival alerts, tour line turn notifications, or organizing student regroup points on school trips.

The business (the sender) simply installs the Upd8All app to manage and issue updates. For the customer (the receiver), there is no app download required. Through our flagship feature, Upd8 Go, customers scan a QR code using their smartphone camera and view live updates directly inside their standard mobile web browser.

Upd8All is entirely free to download and requires no user accounts, registration, or setup.

  • Zero Personal Data: We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact lists.
  • End-to-End Security: Message content is encrypted end to end, so it can be read only on the sending and receiving devices.
  • Transparent Monetization: We keep the service free through non-intrusive third-party advertising managed via Google AdMob (and Google AdSense on our web interfaces in future). Google may collect device identifiers and related data to serve ads, with your consent, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
